Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme is a non-refundable foreign aid granted by Switzerland to Poland as one of the new EU member states, in order to reduce economic and social disparities existing between Poland and more developed EU countries, and to reduce the differences on the Polish territory–between urban centers and structurally underdeveloped regions. The result of the project is to save the electricity and thermal energy, increase of the energy produced from renewable sources and reduction of carbon dioxide. It will be achieved by installation of solar systems for residential buildings and energy efficiency improvement of public buildings through deep thermal modernization with use of heat pumps and photovoltaic. The main objective of the project is improving the health and living conditions of the people in the region: improving the environment, especially with respect to air quality in the region.
NEEDS ADDRESSED:
• there aren't any policy which encourage the due taking into account at local and regional levels of the potential of using efficient heating and cooling systems, in particular those using high-efficiency cogeneration (Art. 4)
