Thermos - methodologies, software and modelling tools that allow public authorities to plan, develop, and expand heating and cooling systems more quickly and efficiently.

THERMOS (Thermal Energy Resource Modelling and Optimisation System) is an EU Horizon 2020 funded research project which will provide advanced energy system data and models in a user-friendly open-source software to make heat network planning faster, more efficient, and more cost effective.

PLANHEAT simulation tool

The PLANHEAT project develops a simulation tool so that your city can map, plan and identify low-carbon, economically viable scenarios!

Hotmaps - The open source mapping and planning tool for heating and cooling

The overarching goal of Hotmaps is the development of an open source heating / cooling mapping and planning toolbox and to provide default data for EU28 at national and local level. These data and tool allow public authorities to identify, analyse, model and map resources and solutions to supply energy needs within their territory of responsibility in a resource and cost efficient way. Those results will help authorities to develop heating and cooling strategies on local, regional and national scale which are in line with RES and CO2-Emission targets on national and EU level.

PLANHEAT - the PLANHEAT tool

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the PLANHEAT project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

The PLANHEAT tool is the “heart” of the PLANHEAT project. It will help your city to simulate its way to decarbonising its heating and cooling system by showing you economically feasible scenarios.

ENERFUND Web Application User Guide

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the ENERFUND project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

ENERFUND is a tool that rates and scores deep renovation opportunities. The tool is based on a set of parameters such as Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) data, number of certified installers, governmental schemes, etc.

Panel2050 Guide for developing an Energy Vision

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the Panel2050 project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

This guiding document provides background and support for the process of developing a Local Energy Vision as a vital stage in a roadmapping process.

Panel2050 Tool for developing a Regional Energy Profile

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the Panel2050 project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

This Excel tool presents a methodology for devising a Regional Energy Profile – an energy baseline on regional/local level – and offers a standardised presentation of the results.

Empowering Capacity Building needs analysis and mapping of regional and municipal capabilities

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the Empowering project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

The Capacity Building Needs Assessment (CBNA) is performed to collect information from Local Energy Board (LEB) organizations on what are their needs in terms of capacity building for sustainable energy planning and implementing, as well as their current status regarding the topics envisaged by EMPOWERING project.
