Empowering Collection of best practices at partner and EU level

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the Empowering project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme.

The collection of best practices contributes to the definition of the most suitable transnational exchange and capacity-building programme by revealing the specific energy challenges of municipalities involved.

The following tool has been developed in the frame of the EmBuild project which has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. 

Installation of renewable energy systems in the public and residential buildings, Poland

Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme is a non-refundable foreign aid granted by Switzerland to Poland as one of the new EU member states, in order to reduce economic and social disparities existing between Poland and more developed EU countries, and to reduce the differences on the Polish territory–between urban centers and structurally underdeveloped regions.

LOCALES (Local Energy Saving), Italy

Kyoto Club is a non-profit organisation founded in February 1999. Its members are business companies, associations and local municipalities and governments engaged in reaching the greenhouse gas reduction targets set by the Kyoto Protocol, by the EU ones for 2030 and by the December 2015 Paris Agreement. The LOCALES (Local Energy Saving) is an energy service created by Kyoto Club, with the contribution of Cariplo Foundation in 2015.

Energy + CNR, Italy

The ENERGY + CNR project is one of the winning projects (1st place) of the Innovation Award of the National Research Council, set up in 2013 on the occasion of the celebrations for the 90th anniversary of the CNR. The project aims to improve the energy management service of the CNR with the participation of employees.

Governance support for cogeneration installation in a public swimming pool, Italy

The municipality of Catania is the owner of a public swimming pool with high level of energy consumption. The objective of the project is to reduce the energy consumption through the installation of a cogeneration plant. This good practice is one of the measures carried out by the Municipality of Catania for SEAP (Sustainable Energy Action Plan) implementation.

Energy and environmental management in public buildings in the City of Czestochowa, Poland

One of the activities significantly improving energy efficiency in Poland is the operational programme “Energy and environmental management in public buildings of Częstochowa City”.

RES heating plan in Rhodope Region tо 2030, Bulgaria

The mail goal is effectively utilization biomass potential in municipalities, members of Association of Rhodope Municipalities, 21 in total. The association has established an energy efficiency council with energy experts from different municipalities. The board will be responsible for the monitoring and implementation of the plan for renewable heating and cooling.

iURBAN Project, Bulgaria

The IURBAN project focuses on both energy consumption (electricity, heating, water and gas) and energy production (PV and solar thermal) for cities located in different European countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Italy and Spain). It is part of the Horizon 2020 programme for the period 2014 - 2020.
